Lloyd Spalter, 78, of Boca Raton, Florida, passed away on October 18, 2013. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and received a BS in Mathematics from Brooklyn College and did graduate work at Philadelphia Textile Institute, Newark College of Engineering and the University of Michigan. He spent his entire career with Uniroyal, which later became the Uniroyal Goodrich Tire Company, holding numerous executive positions, including President of The Consumer Products Division (Keds), President of Uniroyal Canada and Executive Vice President of Operations. He retired to Boca Raton in 1991 and became very active at Boca Pointe Country Club, serving on the board for 10 years and Chairman for 6 years. He is credited with resolving the Club's severe financial issues in 1996. He was an avid bridge player and sports fan, remaining loyal to his N.Y. teams. He is survived by his wife, , Charlotte (nee Hirsch), of 55 years, sons Jeffrey Scott of Fairfax, Virginia; Kenneth Jay of Land o Lakes, Florida; Gary Michael of Hollywood, Florida; and grandchildren, Bryan, Benjamin, Shelby and Daniel, as well as daughters-in-law Joanie and Virginia. Services will be held at Levitt Weinstein Memorial Chapel on State Road 7 in Coconut Creek on October 20th at 10AM.
