After a long and wonderful life, Frances, loving wife, mother, nanny, sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully on Monday August 20 at the age of 82. She was predeceased by Donald Courtney and Jack Physick. Frances will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Dave, son Stephen, daughters Christine (Bill), Catherine, and Carrie (Mike), stepson Kerry (Tara) and cherished by her grandchildren Jennifer, Thomas, Matthew, Claire, and Cameron. She also leaves behind her dear sister, Shirley MacMillan.

Mom lived a full and happy life in North Vancouver, always dedicated to her family. She travelled the world in her later years; England, France, Italy, Spain, Greece, Mexico, and Hawaii being some of her ports of call. She loved seeing the world, but she loved coming home even more. Home was where her heart was.

Mom's endless love for her family and friends, both here and in England, brought her immense joy. She cared for her friends very deeply and they were an integral part of her life. She had the ability to make everyone she knew feel special, and her generosity was immeasurable. Mom's passion for line-dancing was inspiring to everyone who knew her, and she treasured the dear friends she made over her 20 years dancing. She performed on the North Shore as a Golden Spur for many years and she sparkled when she was sharing her gift of dance to everyone around her.

Our Mom showed us her true strength when she was diagnosed with cancer 2 years ago. She faced her diagnosis, treatment, remission and eventual return of the cancer with determination, courage, dignity and grace...and always, her sense of humour. We were honoured to care for her in her time of need, and with Dave's unwavering devotion as our lead, together we were able to make the journey and be with her to the end. A very special thank you to Dr. Catherine Bazilli for her compassionate care, as well as the extended palliative care team for the special care they gave her.

A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, September 7, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at First Memorial/Boal Chapel, 1505 Lillooet Road, North Vancouver. Anyone wishing to make a memorial contribution in her memory can be made to B.C. Cancer Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

We mourn the loss, but celebrate her amazing life. She illuminated our lives with a special magic and her crystal blue eyes...we are so grateful for all of the gifts she gave us. Our Dancing Queen will remain in our hearts forever.
