Gerardo G. "Jerry" Gauna, age 72, of Sweetwater passed away Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Abilene Regional Medical Center in Abilene. Graveside services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Sweetwater Cemetery with Shawn Kincaid officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 until 8:30 P.M. at McCoy Chapel of Memories. McCoy Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Jerry was born September 23, 1945 in Sweetwater to the late Condido and Florinda (Gonzalez) Gauna. He married Felicitas Aldaiz August 3, 1968 in Port Arthur, Texas. He had lived in Sweetwater for fifty years, was a retired Dairy Hand and he was Baptist. Jerry is survived by his wife of fifty years Felicitas Gauna of Sweetwater, son; Gerardo Condido Gauna and wife Amy of Plano, daughters; Vicki Flores of Sweetwater, Dolores Speed and husband Jerry of Sweetwater, brothers; Raymond Gauna of Kerrville, Manuel Gauna of Abilene, Benny Gauna and wife Mary of Bowie, sisters; Florinda Rodriquez and husband Luis of Abilene, Mary Lozano of Hurst, nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by six brothers, five sisters and a granddaughter. Pallbearers will be Nicholas and Noah Gauna, Joseph and James Speed, Serapio Almanza, Jr. and Alejandro Orduna.
