Josephine (Adames) Argumaniz Obituary
Holy Mass of Christian Burial for Josephine Adames Argumaniz, 74, of Sweetwater, will take place at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 12, 2015 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with Father Charles Okonkwo officiating. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
A Rosary will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at McCoy Chapel of Memories.
Argumaniz died Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at her residence.
She was born Nov. 15, 1940, in Sweetwater. She married Pete Lara Argumaniz on Oct. 12, 1957, in Sweetwater. She was a life long member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church as well as many years of other church work. She worked for 30 years at People For Progress, Inc. (PPI). She also fed the Sweetwater Mustangs for seven years as well as being a homemaker. She was also a life long resident of Sweetwater.
Survivors include her husband, Pete Argumaniz of Sweetwater; son, Peter Argumaniz and wife Carol of Flower Mound; two daughters, Gloria Ortegon and husband Frank of Snyder and Jeannie Hampton and husband Darryl of Snyder; four brothers, Jose Adames and wife Estella of Sweetwater, Benny Adames and wife Connie of Abilene, Aurelio Adames and wife Lupe of Sweetwater and Ray Adames and wife Josie of Sweetwater; two sisters, Linda Sepedea and husband Ray of Joshua and Lupe Duran and husband Lupe of Abilene; a sister-in-law, Petra Adames of Sweetwater; five grandsons, John, Stephen, Danny, Cordell and Peter; two granddaughters, Bianca and Lilly; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Aurelio and Maria (Garcia) Adames; a daughter, Mary Argumaniz; a brother, Manuel Adames; and a grandson, Juan Pablo Ortegon.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, John Ortegon, Stephen Ortegon, Danny Ortegon, Cordell Hampton, Peter Argumaniz and Dylon Adames.
