Donald Crane Obituary

Donald Woodworth Crane, 71, of New Port Richey, FL passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday December 13, 2014. Don was born on April 13, 1943 in Syracuse, NY to the late Glenn and Betty Crane. He was a 1962 graduate of Fabius Central School. Don was also a veteran of the US Army stationed in Germany. He began his 25 plus year career moving furniture with Atlas Van Lines (Carruthers Movers), where he received numerous safety awards for the more than 500,000 miles he drove. Don was an avid SU fan and enjoyed camping, shelling, and spending time with family, friends and his dogs, Shelly and Molly. His greatest joys in life were his daughters. He will be remembered for his love for life, his smile, and his jokes. Don is predeceased by his dog, Shelly.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Lorraine Crane; daughters, Terri (Pat) Schoeneck, Sonya (Bruce) Cleveland, Elizabeth (Fred) Grant, Heather (Mike) Clark; sisters, Mary (Don) Duba, Pat (Kent) Partridge; brothers, Jim (Chris) Crane, Russ (Millie) Crane; aunt, Ruth Melchior; stepchildren, Lisa, Renee and Chris; 11 grandchildren, Joey, Jessica, Katie, Michael, Marissa, Heidi, Nichole, Emily, Kenny, Katie and CJ; seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will hold a Celebration of Don's Life in Syracuse next June. He will be smiling down.
