Rachel Smith Norfleet Reichmann
Rachel Smith Norfleet Reichmann, age 101, died Monday, November 12, 2012 at her home in Madison.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Grace Presbyterian Church, Madison with burial at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5 - 7 PM at Beggs Funeral Home Madison Chapel.
She was the daughter of Daniel G. Smith and Rachel Townsend Smith of Madison, and Owned and operated Smith Drug Store after her Father died.
She was born on October 15, 1911. Her home was built in 1898 by Mr. Smith for his bride, Rachel Townsend. Rachel was married to Nat Norfleet in 1935 and they were married for 20 years until Nat was killed in a accident in 1955. They were married for 20 years when Nat died. Rachel married Kirby Reichmann in 1957 and they were married 43 years, until his death in 2000.
She was a devoted faithful member and Sunday School teacher at Grace Presbyterian Church, where she taught the Joy Sunday School Class for 40 plus years. She was greatly loved by her community and was very active in everything in Madison. She was President of Womans Club 3 times, President of The Garden Club, Member of Historical Society, Treasures of Madison County. Friends of the Mansion, and the Gator Club "Big Fan." May God Bless You was her prayer.
She is survived by 2 daughters: Rachel N. Wooley and Nell N Ring both of Madison. Daughter-in-law Ann Norfleet Hamrick of Madison; 4 Grandsons: Nat Norfleet (Monica), Mike Norfleet (Nida), Scott Wooley (Valerie), and Brian Ring (Hillary) and 6 Great Grandchildren: Eric Norfleet (Daryl), Lindsay Fico (Damon), Tre Norfleet III and Kristen Norfleet, Garrett Wooley, Aiden Wooley, Grady Ring and Raleigh Rachel Ring. .
She was preceded in death by a son: Nat Smith Norfleet Jr. and Grandson: Hank Stallings.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Grace Presbyterian Church, 688 N. Washington St., Madison, FL 32340 or Big Bend Hospice 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, Florida 32340.
