Michael Stephen Thomas Michael Stephen Thomas 72, of Tallahassee, FL passed away peacefully on 12/13/14 surrounded by his loving family. The Memorial Service with reception following will be at Advent Episcopal Church at 815 Piedmont Drive, Tallahassee on Saturday 12/20/14 at 2PM. Thornton, Angelina D'Anna  
Angelina D'Anna Thornton Angelina D'Anna Thornton, 91, of Tallahassee passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2014. A service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Holy Comforter Episcopal Church, 2015 Fleischmann Road, Tallahassee. Angelina was born in Hickory, North Carolina on July 12, 1923 and moved to Florida in 1935. She graduated from Leon High School and married the late Albert Eugene Thornton, Jr. on April 8, 1944. Angelina was employed by the Capital City Lumber Company on West Gaines Street. She later worked for many years as a meal site coordinator with Elder Care Services, Inc. A talented seamstress, many local women will remember the gowns she produced to be worn in events such as the May Party. She was an active volunteer in her children's schools. She served in the PTA and became a Gray Lady at Leon High School. Angelina and her husband were founding members of Holy Comforter Episcopal Church. In 2013 she was awarded the Bishop's Star Award by the Diocese of Florida in recognition for her 60 years of service to her church. Survivors include three children, D'Anna Wakefield(John) of Middleburg, Florida; Albert "Bert" Eugene Thornton, III(Shirley) of Tallahassee; Ginger Cooksey(Lemuel) of Crawfordville. Also surviving are grandchildren: Kathryn Gay(John), Nicholas Thornton, Mark Wakefield(Heather), Sarah Rosser(David), Kristin Cooksey, Angelee Milgate(Michael), Jake Cooksey and great-grandchildren: Kevin, Emily, John-Daniel, Kyra, Brenna, Molly, Gavin, Sebastian and Caroline. Angelina is also survived by her faithful dog Timmy. Angelina was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Rose D'Anna, her sister Helen D'Anna, her brother Hugh D'Anna, Jr., great-grandchild Angel Cooksey and her husband of 68 years Albert E. Thornton, Jr. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Holy Comforter Episcopal Church.
