Markleyer J. Thompson Markleyer J. Thompson, died Monday, July 20, 2015 in Tallahassee, Florida. Funeral services will be 11:30 AM TODAY, July 30 at Florida State Hospital Chapel with burial at Florida State Cemetery in Chattahoochee, Florida. Survivors include his mother, Virginia Ann Thompson; son, Marquis Thompson; brother, Johnny Thompson Jr; sister, Sharika Thompson and a host of other relatives and friends. Turner, Dorothy  
Dorothy Jean Gillespie Turner Dorothy Jean Gillespie Turner, 82 of Tallahassee, FL. passed away Sunday, July 26, 2015 at Big Bend Hospice House. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Tallahassee First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Dave Pullen and Rev. Hilton Gillespie officiating. Internment will follow at Tallahassee Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Faith Funeral Home in Havana. (850-539-4300 or www.faithfuneralhome.com .) Mrs Dorothy was born February 8, 1933 in Whigham, GA to the late Gratton Cosmo Gillespie and the late Mary Alta Edwards Gillespie. She graduated from Cairo High School in 1950. On December 10, 1955, she married Jack Turner. Later, she and Jack had three daughters whom she loved very much. She retired from the State of Florida as an administrative assistant, and also retired from The Junior League of Tallahassee. She was a faithful longtime member of the Tallahassee First Church of the Nazarene. She taught and influenced many lives in her 50 years of being a Sunday School Teacher. She also served in many other capacities over the years at the church including serving on the Church Board and as Missions President. She is survived by her two daughters Debbie Turner of Mobile, AL. and Jackie Turner Marston (husband David) of Tallahassee, FL, her son-in-law Justin Strickland of Havana, FL. Her brother Rev. Hilton Gillespie (Chris); sisters Evelyn Eubanks, Mary Poitivent, Loette Buerger, Emily Hickey. Her sister-n-laws Florence Gillespie, Shirley Gillespie, Shelia Edwards. Her grandchildren Jamie McCormick (Ben), Nikki Mosley (Philip) Hailey Marston and Travis Strickland. Great-Grandchildren Mary Jane McCormick, Jada Mosley, Debra Jean Mosley, Marley McCormick. She is also survived by many beloved family members and friends who loved her and ministered to her during her illness She is preceded in death by her husband Jack Travis Turner, her daughter Sandi Turner Strickland, brothers William Gillespie, Earl Gillespie, Gerald Gillespie, Darwin Edwards, M.L. Forehand, and Ronald Forehand; sisters Louise Weiss and Callie Farrow; her step-mother Blanche Gillespie.

Watkins, Janet Marie  
Janet Marie Watkins Janet Marie Watkins, 67, of Monticello passed away Thursday, July 30, 2015. A native of Lucinda, PA and former resident of St. Petersburg, she has resided in Monticello since 1987. She enjoyed her TV programs and word searching. She was a strong person, and accomplished amazing things with her four children. She was always there for her children and grandchildren and always said what was on her mind. She was a cake decorator at Publix and was of the Catholic Faith. Janet is survived by her two sons, William Lafayette and James Leroy Dunn; two daughters, Teresa Marie Silverman and Janie Ann Spinnenweber; and one sister, Emma Louise Puls; and six grandchildren. There are no services planned at this time.

Welhous, John Joseph  
John J. Welhous John Joseph Welhous, 87, of New York, NY transcended to the heavens on Wed. July 29th in Tallahassee at his home. Born in New York City, NY in Harlem Hospital on April 26, 1928. John was the third of six children of the late George and Ada Welhous. His parents and siblings are all deceased. On November 17, 1979 he was united in marriage to Beverly Johnson in New York City, NY and has been married for 35 years. John served as a Corporal in the US Army in 1953. He worked until his retirement in 1988 with the Roberts Upholstery Co. in Manhattan. John and Beverly both retired and moved to Tallahassee, Florida in 1996. John leaves to cherish his memory his wife: Beverly; step sons: Steven Graham, Sr., Paul Clarke; and a host of other relatives and friends. RICHARDSON'S TALLAHASSEE CHAPEL (850)576-4144.

Henry Lee Williams, Sr. Henry Lee Williams, Sr., of Gretna, died on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 in Tallahassee. He was a member of St. Stephen P.B. Church where his service will be 11 AM Saturday, August 1 with interment in the St. Paul Church Cemetery. Viewing will be from 3 PM to 8 PM at Bradwell Mortuary in Quincy (850-627-3700). He is survived by his wife, Arthur Mae Williams; sons, Jerome Williams (Shirley), Henry Williams, Jr. (Leslie), Henry Williams III (Mary Ann) and James Williams; daughter, Edna Knight (Elijah), Barbara Pugh (Waymond), Linda Murray (Frank), and Verean Hughes (Al Joseph); sisters, Rosa Williams, Everlena Williams and Catherine Kelly; brother, Woodrow Williams and special grandchildren and caregivers, Shamika Williams and Shantisha Hobbs; 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Wolfinger, Doris  
Doris Wolfinger (1938-2015) Doris Lou Dinsmore Wolfinger, 76, of Tallahassee, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2015. Doris was born and raised in Mayes County, Oklahoma, and attended school in Wagoner before graduating from Chouteau High School. She later worked in Tulsa for the Public Service Corporation, and moved to Muskogee County when she married. She and her husband, Tom, owned and operated a restaurant in Boynton and later Wolfinger's Barbeque Restaurant in Oktaha, where they raised their two daughters. She also worked for Rural Water District No. 1 as its bookkeeper and office manager. With the spirit of a true pioneer woman, Doris always had a garden growing and a sewing or craft project in the works. She was involved in her local church and the Oktaha Ladies' Club where she readily helped anyone in need. Upon retirement in 2001, Doris and Tom moved from Oklahoma to Florida, where they enjoyed being involved in the lives of their grandchildren and serving at Morningside Baptist Church in Tallahassee. She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Hester Dinsmore; sister Clarice Williams; and nephew David Williams. Doris is survived by her husband of 56 years, Tom Wolfinger of Tallahassee; her brother Glynn Dinsmore of Shawnee, Oklahoma; daughters Angela Morrison of Tallahassee and Cheryl Wolfinger of Atlanta, Georgia; her grandchildren Alyssa Morrison and Thomas Morrison; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on August 3, 2015, at Morningside Baptist Church with Pastor Brian Gilliland officiating. Visitation begins at 10:30 am and the service begins at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to either International Sports Federation, P.O. Box 2788, Acworth, Georgia 30102, or Morningside Baptist Church's Building Fund, 1560 Pedrick Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32317.
