Abraham Alvin Sulkes

Abraham Alvin Sulkes died June 12, 2014, in Tallahassee, FL. Al was born December 20, 1937, to Joseph A. and Sophie Tribuck Sulkes in Detroit, MI, where he grew up and went to public schools. An alumnus of the University of Michigan, Class of 1959, Al was a proud Wolverine! Go Blue!! Always a dedicated Jew, Al knew he was a Link in the Chain of Jewish Tradition. A community servant, he served many years on the Board of Trustees of Temple B'nai Israel in Clearwater and was 1977-1979 Congregational President. In Tallahassee, he was on the Board of Trustees of Temple Israel and President of the Jewish Federation. Al was devoted to living, helping others and making the world a better place. Life is for the living; every day is a gift. Those who knew Al know him for the full person he was, loving, caring, sharing. A Prince of Israel has fallen! Al is survived by his beloved sons Neil (Cathy) Sulkes and Scott (Marc) Sulkes, their mother, grandson Leo Maxwell Sulkes Ginsberg, brother Sanford (Shirley) Sulkes, and wife Loyce Farr Sulkes, the great love of his golden years. This is my beloved; this is my friend. Private family burial, then Memorial Service at Temple Israel, July 1st at 2:30PM. Contributions may be made to the Tallahassee Jewish Federation Youth Scholarships for Camps, P.O. Box 14825, Tallahassee 32317.
