Fenton F. Rogers
Fenton F. Rogers, passed on Monday March 31st at Cross Landing Nursing Home in Monticello, Florida. Mr. Rogers is preceded in death by his parents Ulysses and Luella Rogers, a sister Evelyn Troxell, a son Michael Rogers and his wife of fifty six years Annabelle Rogers.
Mr. Rogers is survived by two sons, Phil Rogers of Tallahassee and Scott Rogers of Monticello; two daughters Diane Whittle (Wendell) of Pensacola, and Angie Rogers of Tallahassee; one brother Lyle Rogers of Tennessee; three grandchildren, five great grandchildren and two great -great grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Rogers was a native of Virginia Illinois but had lived in Monticello for over sixty years. He was a self taught mechanic and served the people of Monticello until his retirement at the young age of ninety one in 2008.
He served as a Volunteer Fire Chief of Monticello for nineteen years and was a Highway Patrol Auxiliary Trooper for thirty three years.
Hard work and dedication to the people of Monticello was his life's journey.
Graveside services will be held on Friday at Roseland Cemetery, in Monticello Florida at 11:00AM.
