H. Hartsfield Obituary
H. Maurice Hartsfield, 77, of Tallahassee died Tuesday (1/10) at his home. He was a native of Tallahassee where he has lived all his life. Following his retirement from Florida State University, where he worked as the maintenance supervisor, he opened and operated Hartsfield Welding. One of his passions was farming and raising cattle. His greatest pleasure came from being with his family and many friends. He was always ready with a story and always willing to help those in need.
An only child, he was preceded in death by his mother and father: Annie Ruth Crowder Hartsfield and Herbert C. Hartsfield. Maurice is survived by his wife of 58 years: Joyce Golden Hartsfield; son: Rick of Tallahassee; daughter-in-law: Gina Waters Hartsfield; and grandchildren, who were his heart and soul: Jessica & Graham, all of Tallahassee.
The family will receive friends Sunday (1/15) at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, Riggins Road, from 2 until 3 PM. The funeral service will follow at 3 PM on Sunday in the Culley's MeadowWood Chapel. For friends who wish, the family suggests memorial donations to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd, Tallahassee, FL 32308 in lieu of flowers.
