Deacon James Brinson, 88, owner of Ideal Steel Erection, passed Fri. June 13, in Tallahassee. Funeral service will be 3:00PM Sat. June 21 at the Old West Florida Enrichment Center, with burial at Southside Cemetery, both in Tallahassee. The cortege will assemble at 2:00PM Saturday at the funeral home. Deacon Brinson will rest in the mortuary from 3-7PM Fri. June 20 at RICHARDSON'S TALLAHASSEE CHAPEL (850)576-4144, and Saturday from 9AM-1:00PM. Deacon Brinson was a member of Brown Bethel PB Church where he remained faithful until his demise. He served as Chairman of the Deacon Board until 2013 when his health began to decline. Deacon Brinson leaves not to mourn but to cherish his memories: his wife of more than 63 years, Rosa Lee Hills Brinson; daughters, Josephine "Jo" Brinson Moore, Geraldine "Geri" Brinson Austin, Marvett and Janice Brinson, Letisha Bivins; sons: Alfred Hill, Robert Brinson (Dee), Kenneth Brinson (Karen), Kennon Brinson, Anthony Hawkins; brothers: Hayward Sampson, Frank Brinson; sisters: Hattie Ferrell (Tommy), Annie Addison; uncle: Robert Floyd, II; aunt: Elizabeth Floyd Washington; 26 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild; several cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by sons James Brinson, Jr., Bobby Brinson; daughter: Barbara Brinson; four sisters and four brothers.
