James Elton Williams
James Elton Williams, 83, of Tallahassee, passed away at home surrounded by his family on November 9, 2013.
After his discharge from the service, Jim and Betty resided in Monee, IL where they raised six children. Jim developed a successful ornamental iron business and in 1976, sold his business and retired to the Tallahassee area. Jim loved fishing, gardening, wood working and the outdoors. He loved spending time with family and friends.
He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and a Veteran of World War II
Jim is survived by his wife Betty of 63 years, son, Larry Williams (wife, Karen) of Thomasville, Georgia, daughters Dena Williams of Tallahassee, Debra Gwaltney (husband, Sam) of Tallahassee, Donna Williams (husband, Eddie) of Lake Charles, LA, Denene Hurst (husband, Joe) of Cedartown, Georgia, Denise Seiz (husband, Charlie) of Cedartown, Georgia, eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Jim was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to all.
Visitation is planned for Monday, November 11, 2013 from 4 to 6 pm at Beggs Funeral Home, 3322 Apalachee Parkway, Tallahassee, FL 32311, (850)942-2929. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Beggs Funeral Home. Jim will be laid to rest at Oakfield Cemetery in Monticello, Florida.
