Marion Hinson Ford
Marion Hinson Ford, 81, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2014, at home in Tallahassee FL. She was born January 16, 1933 in San Pedro, CA. She was raised in Pensacola. FL and graduated from Pensacola High School, Class of 1951. She received her Registered Nurse Diploma from Mather School of Nursing, New Orleans, LA, in 1955. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of West Florida in 1982.
She is survived by her husband of over 30 years, Chaplain Thaine E Ford, Commander, USN, Retired; daughter, Joan Humphrey Anderson (Wayne), Tallahassee, FL; son, Evan James Humphrey (Rebecca), Orlando, FL; grandsons, Evan Wayne Anderson, Tallahassee, FL, and Austyn Mark Humphrey, Orlando, FL.; sister, Hattie Pauline Hinson; Pensacola, FL.; brother James Carswell Hinson, Jr., Pensacola, FL; and Thaine's beloved children Mark Eugene Ford (Cathy), Columbia City, IN; John Steven Ford. Fort Wayne, IN, Philip Edward Ford (Carol), Fort Walton Beach, FL; and Ann Ford Eddy (Brian), Mobile, AL.; and grandchildren, Joshua Philip Ford, Anchorage, AK, Stephen Perry Ford, Fort Walton, FL., Tyler Eugene Ford, Columbia City, IN, Sydney Catherine Ford, Columbia City, IN, Alexander Eddy, Mobile, AL and Nathaniel Eddy, Mobile, AL. and special close friends, Anise McGuire, Pensacola, FL., and Sean Yu, Beijing, China. She is predeceased by her parents, Myrtle Lee Blum Hinson, and James Carswell Hinson, Sr.
She enjoyed her nursing career, especially her work with the Escambia County Health Department and as Nurse Director of Children's Medical Services, District 1. She retired from the Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services, State of Florida, after 25 years of service in 1996.
The internment will be Wednesday, May 7, 2014, 1:15 pm at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola. FL. The Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be Saturday, May 10, 2014, 2:00 pm at First United Methodist Church, 6 East Wright Street, Pensacola FL.
