Marion L. (Lanny) Brady
Marion L. (Lanny) Brady—musician, teacher, conversationalist, entertainer, reader, building contractor, poet, actor, composer, innovator, wit, friend, brother, son, volunteer, and Senior Designer for Florida Turnpike Enterprise—was born October 17, 1947 in Elkins, WV. He died peacefully, surrounded by his family, May 8, 2013, in Orlando, FL. After graduating from FSU's Florida High School, he joined the US Navy
as a musician. He attended Valdosta State University in Georgia, and at various times, lived and worked in Ohio and West Palm Beach, primarily in the field of civil engineering.
Lanny was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Williams Brady. He is survived by his father, Marion Brady and step-mother, Joy Brady of Cocoa; sisters Sylvia L. Powell, Cocoa; Heather White, Tallahassee; brothers, Drew Brady, Yuma, AZ, and Jonathon Brady, Cocoa; and step-brothers, David Halcomb, Titusville, and Daniel Halcomb, Orlando.
Most recently, he was employed by the Montgomery Consulting Group of Winter Park.
A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church, Titusville, May 18 at 3 p.m.
