Paul Kent Sims
Paul Kent Sims, 67, a lifelong resident of Tallahassee, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2013 with his family by his side at his home in Bonifay.
A son of the late Elwood and Nettie Forehand Sims, he was born May 1, 1946 in Tallahassee.
He served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War
, and received the Purple Heart
. After discharge from the US Army, he became a mail carrier with the US Postal Service. He loved hunting, gardening, fishing and baseball. He was a member of the Tallahassee Classics Baseball Team.
He is survived by his wife, Margie Syfrett Sims; son, Scott and Jenny Sims; daughter, Lindsey Sims; stepsons, Raymond Sowell and Jason Yawn; grandchildren, Chastyne, Joey, Delana, Hunter, Isabella, Danner, Ryder, Coby; step-grandson, Jaxon; brother, Dennis and Cynthia Sims; sister, Sonya and Tom Stanley.
The funeral is 2:00 PM Friday, June 14, 2013 Abbey Funeral Home. Interment, with military honors, will follow at Tallahassee Memory Gardens.
