Phyllis Amelia Outlaw Dove

Phyllis Amelia Outlaw Dove of Tallahassee passed away in her home on April 24, 2014. She was 81.

Phyllis was born in Holmes County, Florida on March 26, 1933. She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years and love of her life, Robert F. Dove, Sr. (Bob), and her parents Lawson and Celeste Galloway Outlaw.

She is survived by her children, Donna Dove of St Augustine, Jody Dove of Tallahassee (Gayle), and Bob Dove, Jr. of Largo, as well as 3 grandsons, John, Lawson and Sawyer. Phyllis leaves behind relatives and friends of many years. She will always be loved and remembered for her kindness, loyalty, and quiet strength.

Phyllis graduated from Florida State University in 1954 with a degree in Home Economics. She was an avid Seminole football fan. Her lifelong teaching career began in Wakulla County, was continued as the dietician at Ruediger Elementary School, and she taught many years at Godby High School before retiring. She has been an active member of Thomasville Road Baptist Church for almost 60 years.

The family will receive guests on Tuesday, April 29 at 1:00 at Thomasville Road Baptist Church. Funeral services will be in the church sanctuary at 2:00. Graveside service will follow at Tallahassee Memorial Gardens.
