Wilbur Coburn Haire

Wilbur Haire passed away February 7, 2014 in Tallahassee. There will be a Graveside Service at Hillcrest Cemetery in Quincy on Tuesday, February 11 at 2:30 p.m. Visitation will be from 11 to 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday at Westminster Oaks Retirement Community in the Parry Building.

Born in Quincy, Florida in 1918, he received a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree from Auburn University in 1941. He was appointed Chief, Bureau of Poultry Services December 1, 1961 and served the state of Florida as a Career Veterinarian for over 40 years.

He was a member of Omega Tau Sigma Veterinary Fraternity and was a 32nd Degree Mason Scottish Rites. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Tallahassee.

Dr. Haire is survived by: his sister Dorothy Puckett; his son Richman Haire, his daughter Dr. Kay Huggins and her husband, Rev. Dr. Sid Huggins; his grandchildren Janice Hepburn and her husband Dr. Matt Hepburn, and Ariel Amador and her husband Jesse Amador; his great-grandchildren Michael and Elizabeth Hepburn and Christian and Isabella Amador. He was predeceased by his wife Koleen Stone Haire and his grandson John Sidney Huggins.
