Willie James Johnson

Willie James Johnson, 88, a Navy veteran of World War II and a Supervisor at the State Department of Education mailroom until he retired passed Saturday, March 22, 2014, in Tallahassee.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Flipper Chapel A.M.E. Church where he was a member. His interment will be at MeadowWood Memorial Park, 700 Timberlane Rd, Tallahassee. The cortege will assemble at 3103 Rackley Drive at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Mr. Johnson will rest at Strong and Jones Funeral Home where his body may be viewed.

Cherishing his precious memories are: His wife, Julia Mae Johnson, three daughters: Deidra M. Williams (Tommy Lee), Kia Johnson, and Patricia Thompson; two brothers: Jackie Johnson (Rosa), Herbert Johnson (Susie); three sisters: Lillie Mae Landers, Ruby Roberson (Ransom) and Patricia Hayes; two sister-in-laws: Melanie Smith and Betty Johnson; four grandchildren: Bryan Willis (Tamekia), Julius Willis (Ludy), Dionna Willis, and Aaliyah Holiday, Six great-grandchildren: D'Naiyla Johnson, Jamalachi Willis, Maliq Willis, Tyriq Willis, Jordan Willis and Julian Willis; god-son: Ruben Roberson and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
