Doris Boyles Willis

Doris Boyles Willis, 87, passed away on January 28, 2013 in Mount Dora, FL. Born in Guntersville, AL on July 30, 1925, she was the older of two girls born to Zeke and Eva Boyles.

Doris graduated from Guntersville High School in 1942 and then attended Howard College (now known as Samford University) in Birmingham, AL.

She married Benjamin Risher Willis on March 26, 1952 in Guntersville, AL.

She lived in Marianna, FL from 1952 until 2001 when she moved to Eustis, FL. Doris was a member of the First Baptist Church of Guntersville, Marianna, and Eustis.

Doris is survived by two daughters: Marion Virginia (Jenna) Young (and husband Ray) of Tallahassee, FL, and Celia Carolyn Thompson (and husband Richard) of Eustis, FL; grandchildren James Ray Young, Jr., (and wife Jenny) of Sarasota, FL; Britt Willis Young (and wife Marie) of Moultrie, GA; Matthew Bryce Young of Tampa, FL; Milla Thompson Chappell (and husband Brad) of Pittsburgh, PA; and Krisan Thompson Anderson (and husband Casey) of Wetumpka, AL. She is also survived by nine great grandchildren.

A Memorial service will be held in the Chapel at First Baptist Church, Tallahassee, FL at 4:00 PM on Sunday, February 3, 2013. Memorial gifts may be directed to Capital Campaign at First Baptist Church, Tallahassee, FL.

Doris was a lovely lady, I am so sorry to hear of her passing. I will miss the good times we had sitting in her driveway and talking, she was so funny, we laughed a lot. I really miss her. My prayers go out to your family.
