Marcile Shelfer Obituary
Marcile W. Shelfer, 84, of Jacksonville went to be with the Lord on May 31, 2011. She is survived by her husband of sixty-six years, Hardy Shelfer, daughter, Janet Shelfer and sister, Betty Zeorlin. A granddaughter, Jennifer Nguy and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Shelfer is predeceased by her sons, Randall Shelfer and Larry Shelfer; brothers J.S. Whittemore, Norwood Whittemore, Gordon Whittemore and Junior Whittemore; and a step-sister Janette Sova. Marcile had a love for education and was a great chef. She will be loved and missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Interment followed at Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of the Alzheimer's Association. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Hardage-Giddens Town and Country Funeral Home, 9242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL. 32205.

Dear Janet,
As I sat reading Marcile's obituary last night, the memories came flooding back, memories of two very special people. Jim and I have missed them and thought of them often over the years.
Marcile and I were "church visiting partners" and had quite a few adventures trying to locate addresses of homes out in the country. I remember especially how she spared no effort on Saturdays to make special Sunday meals for her family. I have often wished I could be like her in that respect.
Our prayers are with you and Hardy, for the comfort and consolation that is given to us by "The Comforter", the Holy Spirit of God.

Janet & family, my prayers are with you at this time. I'm so fortunate to have known your mother...she was always a delight & a blessing to be around at FSU. You are also, very much like her. I'm sorry that I did not know about your brothers as well. Give my best wishes to your dad. Hugs to you.
