Sarah Ball Palmer Proctor

Sarah Ball Palmer Proctor was born in Tallahassee, Florida, on November 21, 1915, the daughter of Dr. Henry Edwards Palmer and Lucile Saxon Palmer. She died in Tallahassee, Florida, December 26, 2013. She enjoyed her life to the fullest and was a wonderful wife, mother and friend. Sarah Ball was a lifelong member of Saint John's Episcopal Church where she was baptized, confirmed, and married. She graduated from Leon High School and Florida State College for Women, where she enjoyed her membership in the Alpha Delta Pi sorority. Sarah Ball will always be remembered and appreciated by family and friends for her engaging sense of humor, her active and inquiring mind, and the joy she gave and received through art, music, reading and gardening. She was devoted to and thoroughly enjoyed her family and friends. She is survived by her large loving family: Palmer and Mary Call Proctor, Julian and Betty Proctor, Tom and Nancy Proctor, Martin and Susan Proctor, Hester and John Gehrm, and Sammie Crowder; fifteen grandchildren: Mary Call Ford, Palmer Proctor, Jr., Collins Proctor, Sarah Ball Miller, Sarah Elizabeth Reichelt, Rev. Richard Proctor, Tom Proctor, Jr., Dabney Jerrett, John Proctor, Rebecca Enfinger, Selby Proctor, Julian Crowder, Martin Proctor, Jr., Sarah Rosetta Proctor, and Elizabeth Emerson Proctor; nineteen great grandchildren; and her sister, Mary Lucile Collins. She was predeceased by her husband, Julian Proctor, Sr., their daughter Sarah Saxon Proctor Crowder, and her brothers Bryan Palmer, Dr. Thomas M. Palmer, Hugh Archer Palmer, Dr. George Saxon Palmer and Dr. Martin Palmer. In lieu of flowers the family will be grateful for your consideration of donations to the Proctor Endowment for Children with Diabetes at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, St. John's Episcopal Church, or Big Bend Hospice.

Services will be held at Saint John's Episcopal Church at 2:00pm, Monday, December 30, with a visitation reception immediately following in Alfriend Hall. Burial will be a private family service.
