It is with a great sense of regret that I read the notice of Dick's passing. There probably are few other people that were more instrumental in my succesful career with IBM. It was Dick's willingness to take a chance on that kid covered in sheet-rock dust that ultimately culminated in making IBM my career. I will forever have the warmest feelings for my times in Tallahasse in general and my times around Dick Coyner in particular... It was particularly special that he also passed away on my birthday.

Sue, Rebecca and I were shocked to hear about Dick. Our prayers are with you and your family during this trying time. Dick was a wonderful man to work for for many years. He helped me and gave me an opportunity to advance within IBM and them come back to work for him again. I always repsected him as a leader as well as a person. May God be with you during these times as he goes to be with his heavenly Father.
