Harold Gibbs Obituary
Harold F. Gibbs, age 71, died peacefully Tuesday, February 28, 2012. Born in Tallahassee, Fl July 7, 1940 to Robert L. and Nell Gibbs. He had been a local Real Estate Developer most of his life. He was preceded in death by his father Robert Louis Gibbs and a brother Benjamin Gibbs. He is survived by his mother Nell Gibbs, his beloved wife Eydie Gibbs, three sons Greg (Angela), Marshall (Deavin) and Brian all of Tallahassee. One brother Arnold Gibbs of Orlando, three grandsons and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Big Bend Hospice or The Tallahassee Homeless Shelter. Graveside services will be held Friday, noon at Oakland Cemetery.

Dear Edyie and family,
Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you. Harold (Gibbo) was such a wonderful and generous person in so many unique ways. We enjoyed spending a little time with you both at the various Leon reunions, and especially at the 50th, sharing a table with you. We will remember Harold fondly, and how much you all meant to each other.

Mrs. Gibbs, Greg, Marshall and Brian, I first remember Mr. Harold from my childhood when my father did business with him. Later as an adult I got to know him on a different level. He would often give me advice and bits of his business knowledge. It was always insightful and appreciated. I will miss his advice and humor, but most of all I will miss his friendship. My hopes and prayers are that God offers his comfort to you all during this time of loss.

I am so sorry I won't be able to come to the graveside service. Harold and I go back to the days of Caroline Brevard Elem School. Have thought of him often since his last stint in the hospital several years ago. Just goes to show we should act on our thoughts when we think of our friends.
