I was privileged to serve in the Fl. House of Representatives with Walt during the 1972-74 session. I admired his understanding of the many, complex issues we faced and he served with Honor and distinction. He leaves a great leagecy. Terrell Sessums, Speaker of the House, 1972-74.

I was saddened to read about Dr. Young's passing.
He was the first principal I worked with in Dade County Schools. I was one of his secretaries at Carol City Junior High School.
I now live in Tallahassee, and I thought of him often. I only regret that I didn't try to get in touch with him. My deepest condolences to you and the girls. He spoke to me so often about you and the girls.

Dorothy and Family,
What a rich life Walt lived and he had you and the children to share it with, meaning he was blessed several times over.
Walt was a true blue educator who acted on the best interests of his constiuents. I was priviledged to learn from him and follow his teaching.
My thoughts are with you.

Known as "Mr. Education" on the Broward County Legislative Delegation, Walter Young spent his life fighting for the improvement of our public schools and the students they serve. He was a man of integrity who never forgot his students or his constituents. It was an honor to have known him. Maureen Dinnen, veteran teacher and former President of the Florida Education Association
