Ray Robinson Obituary
Ray John Robinson, 63, passed away on May 17, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Ray was born on September 7, 1947 in Quincy, Florida and graduated from Leon High School in 1965. After attending Chipola Jr. College, he was a member of the 1st Air Cavalry in the United States Army. He was stationed in Vietman and Belgium. After he was discharged, he worked in the wholesale electronics business and worked for Fouraker Electronics for over 30 years.
He enjoyed watching FSU sports, car racing, spending time in the yard and visiting with friends and family. Ray was very knowledgeable about many subjects and loved to share with others. He was quite the handyman and had a great sense of humor.
Ray is survived by the love of his life, Cathy Robinson of 34 years; his daughter and pride and joy, Jessica Showalter and son in law, Austen Showalter; his mother, Ellen Robinson; sisters, June (Calvin) Smith and Karen Lewis; mother in Law, Willie Gene Odlund; and several neices, nephews, and friends.
He was preceeded in death by his father, James Robinson.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm EDT on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Bevis Funeral Home(850.385.2193). The burial with military honors will conclude the following day at Old Town Cemetery in Old Town, Florida.

You are all in my prayers. I liked Ray very much. It was hard not to; I have never seen a man so in love with his family. It made my visits with him a pleasure and Cathy, you are a strong and special woman with a generous heart. May God bless you.
