Arthur Wayne King
Arthur Wayne King, 77 of Tallahassee, Florida, went to be with Jesus Christ on November18, 2013, surrounded by family and friends. He is preceded in death by Arthur Holland King and Mayme Smith, of Clewiston, Florida, and siblings James, Owen, and Elizabeth Wynn.
Mr. King graduated from FSU with a degree in accounting after service to our country in the U.S. Army in Landstuhl, Germany. He married his college sweetheart, Betty Ruth Williams, May 31, 1958 and they were married for 55 years. Mr. King worked for the State of Florida for 35 years, as an accountant.
He is survived by three daughters, Libby McCullough (Alan McCullough) of McDonough, Georgia, Heather Baxter (Hubert Baxter), of Tallahassee, and Rene Hook (Brett Hook) of Monticello, Florida, and his sister Mary Jean Hughes of Smyrna, Georgia and her family.He is also survived by his grandchildren, Shawn and Connor McCullough, and Douglas and Dianna Baxter.
Wayne King was a long time, active member of First Baptist Church, Tallahassee, Florida, where he taught Sunday School, sang in the Sanctuary Choir, the Adult Ensemble, and the Joy Choir. Mr. King also participated in numerous community musical ensembles through Barbershop singing and in a production of Camelot.Mr. King was an active member of the Tallahassee Civitan Club, serving as Treasurer.
The family will have a memorial service at Culley and Sons Meadowood,700 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee, FL 32312. Visitation will commence at 1:00 p.m. preceding the memorial service at 2:00 p.m.
