Rev. Cecil D. Harrison

Funeral services for Rev. Cecil D. Harrison, 83, of Ochlocknee will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Victory Baptist Church. Rev. Gary Holland and Rev. Merrill Coram will officiate services with interment to follow at Salem Baptist Church Baptist Church of Decatur Co. Pallbearers will be Keith Harrison, Travis Harrison, Daniel McKenzie, Christopher Harrison, Mark Harrison and Kevin Swords. Rev. Harrison was born on December 3, 1929 in Whigham, GA to the late Lee Roy Harrison and Sadie Chason Harrison. He served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. After returning from Korea Rev. Harrison would go on to wed Mrs. Sarah Knight Harrison on April 26, 1953 in Climax. Rev. Harrison later attended Tennessee Temple University and pursued a career as a Minister until the time of his retirement. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church and he departed this life on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare. Survivors to cherish his memory include his wife Sarah K. Harrison of Ochlocknee; sons Del Harrison (Susan) of and Myron Harrison (Tammy) all of Tallahassee, FL; daughter Sandra Harrison Bales (Gary) of Thomasville; son Phil Harrison of Tallahassee, FL; daughters Debbie Harrison McKenzie (Mark) of Thomasville and Brenda Harrison Swords (Billy) of Norman Park; seventeen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother Lloyd Harrison of Cumming; sister Inez Harrison Reifenberg of South Miami, FL. He was preceded in death by brothers Otis Harrison and James M. Harrison. The family will receive friends Friday, July 26, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Whiddon-Shiver Funeral Home in Thomasville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Victory Baptist Church, 938 N. Pinetree Blvd., Thomasville, GA 31792 and Gideon's Internatioal at www.gideons.org or mail "in honor" to P. O.
