Elizabeth Bramlett Obituary

Elizabeth Lynn Stubbs Bramlett

Elizabeth Lynn Stubbs Bramlett died on May 25, 2012 after a courageous battle with metastatic lung cancer. A lifetime resident of Tallahassee, Lynn was born on February 4, 1942, to George William and Sue Harwell Stubbs. Her parents and son George William Bramlett preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister Noanne Stubbs Gwynn, her beloved grandson Brett William Bramlett (Courtney Taylor) and granddaughter Heather Standridge , their mother Debbie Gingery (Pride), niece Lina Gwynn Redding, nephews James C. Gwynn, III and David Walker Gwynn (Elizabeth), nine great nieces and nephews, one great grand nephew and her two great grandchildren, Gabriel William and Avery Marie Bramlett, who were the great joys of her life.

Following high school Lynn began her 35 year career with the State at the Florida Railroad Assessment Commission. She retired in 1998 from her position as Budget Analyst for the Florida Department of Revenue Property Tax Administration. Lynn was highly regarded for her abilities and developed many good and lasting friendships as she traveled throughout the state to visit with county officials. Lynn's first love and consideration was for her family, each of whom has been blessed by her generosity and kindness. She was a devoted caregiver and friend to many. Lynn was a gardening enthusiast and delighted in the many hummingbirds that were attracted to her yard and came to visit on her patio every afternoon. She was also a compassionate dog lover. Tootsie and Snickers, two dogs she rescued from abusive situations, became like family. They remained at watch by her bedside throughout her illness. Even in her final hours our Lynnie had moments that showed her great sense of humor and exhibited her attitude toward life which was to have fun and enjoy it to the hilt. For these qualities and her loving and giving spirit she will be remembered and greatly missed. Her family is indebted to her friends and Big Bend Hospice helpers who supported and ministered to her in loving and caring ways.

The family will receive visitors at Culley's Meadow Wood location 700 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee, on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 from 1-3 PM. A private burial will be held at a later date.
