I. Robert Freeland age 102 a retired Dairy Farmer passed away Sunday February

23, 2014, at his home in Tallahassee Florida.

Funeral services will be held Thursday February 27, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the 1st United Methodist Church Monticello Florida. Visitation will be held at Beggs Monticello Chapel from 7-9 P.M. Interment will be at Roseland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to: Big Bend Hospice 1723 Mahan Center Blvd. Tallahassee, Fl. 32308-5428.

Robert was a native of Wheeling West Virginia and a former resident of Wayne County, Dublin and Columbus OH before moving to Jefferson County FL in 1953.

In 1961 he was instrumental in convincing the Foremost Milk Co. to keep the operation open to the dairymen of this area and turned it into a Co-op and convincing all the dairymen to join also. He was the President of Sunshine State Dairymen Co-op, and also Farm Bureau. He became a Lobbyist for the Dairy Industry in Florida State Legislature.

He is survived by his loving wife of 76 years Jane Freeland 2 sons Joseph Robert Freeland (Patricia) of Tallahassee, John Paul Freeland of Madisonville TN and a daughter Eleanor Freeland-Tesarek (Thomas) of Monticello FL. 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
