Inez James Levingston
Inez James Levingston, 92, of Greenville, FL passed in Tallahassee on Saturday, September14, 2013.
Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday at New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, with burial in the Church Cemetery. Viewing-visitation will be 12 noon-3 p.m. at TILLMAN OF TALLAHASSEE 850-942-1950, and from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at TILLMAN OF MONTICELLO 850-997-5553. Born in Monticello, Mrs. Levingston was a longtime Greenville resident.
She and her late husband, John, were married in Ray Charles' childhood home in Greenville. She was a deaconess (President), adult choir member and Pastor's Aid committee member at New Zion. Treasuring her love and memory are her daughters, Johnnie Levingston-Lee, Mary Levingston (Minister Nathaniel) Forbes, Minister Inez Levingston Williams; son, John (Tammy) Levingston, Jr.; nephews whom she raised, Willie (Mary) James and Jessie James; daughter-in-law, Minister Essie M. Brown, nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
She was also predeceased by her son, Willie Brown and her brother, Wilbur James.
