James "Chick" Allison
James Henry "Chick" Allison, 74, of Tallahassee departed this life on Sunday, December 29, 2013.
Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church, with burial in Southside Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5-7 p.m. at Gethsemane. TILLMAN OF TALLAHASSEE 850-942-1950 is serving the family. Retired after 21 years of service as a painter for FAMU, "Chick" was one of the University's most ardent supporters, attending all home and most away football games.
A true Rattler, he was regarded as everybody's friend. Survivors include: his former wife, friend and mother of his children, Alma R. Allison; daughters, Alicia (Anthony) Stephen and Ashleigh Allison; son, James (Kannika) Allison, Jr.; sisters, Earline (Alton ) Farmer, Mary Alice Allen and Mable (Reverend Willie) Webster; brothers, Frank (Betty), Willie (Evelyn), Howard and Larry Allison; five grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
His parents, Henry Lee and Essie V. Allison and his siblings, Barbara Rivers and Lenorris N. Allison all predeceased him.
