Laurent (Larry) E. Singer
Laurent (Larry) E. Singer, 87, of 4422 Sierra Ct., Tallahassee, born in Long Island, N.Y., went to be with our Lord after a long illness on April 22, 2014. He is survived by the love of his life, Phyllis Hamilton and his three children, Laurie Hunter, Ron Singer, and Ronna.
Larry left high school at the age of 17 and joined the Navy during World War II. After Larry's military service he went back to high school and received his diploma. From high school Larry went to flight school on the GI Bill to become a pilot. After several years of crop dusting, he became a flight instructor and taught cadets to fly for the United States Air Force.
After Larry's career as a flight instructor he sold insurance until he retired from the Gabor Agency of Tallahassee. He was a member of the Million Dollar Round Table for 12 years and received his CLU.
Larry was a member of the Killearn United Methodist Church, Economics Club of Florida, Tallahassee Symphony Society and The Town Club of Tallahassee.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Hillcrest Cemetery, 600 N. 14th St., Quincy, FL. There will be a reception at the family home, 4422 Sierra Court, Tallahassee, on Saturday at 3:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Big Bend Hospice House, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, FL., 32308 or Killearn United Methodist Church, Tallahassee.
