Leo Cox

Leo Cox, 97, of Tallahassee went home to his Lord on Dec 8, 2012. He was born in Smith Creek, FL to Lorenzo and Mae Langston Cox on Sept 27, 1915. Leo was a brilliant, well-read man with a depth of knowledge on many topics. He had many friends and was known for his lively wit, kindness and beautiful bass singing voice.
He served as a firefighter at Camp Gordon Johnston during WWII and was retired from Eli Witt Co.
He is survived by his sons Byron (Karen) of Tallahassee, Greg of Sarasota, and Tim (Vicky) of Valrico, his daughter Rita (Jeff) Dalton of Tallahassee, 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Theo Anderson and his daughter, Janine. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Sopchoppy Southern Baptist Church with burial at West Sopchoppy Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 10 until 11:00 prior to services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lighthouse Children's Home, 7771 Mahan Dr., Tallahassee, FL 32309.
