Lindsey Hunnicutt Obituary

Lindsey Von Shaw Hunnicutt Lindsey Von Shaw Hunnicutt, 68, of Gulf Breeze died peacefully on Monday, February 22, 2010 surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin Franklin and Evelyn Clayton Shaw, and her son-in-law, Frank Stephen Barkocy, III. Lindsey was born in Tallahassee. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and friend. Her passion in life was her unfailing love of family, especially her beloved grandchildren. She attended Leon High School and was graduated from Terry Parker High School in Jacksonville. She attended Florida State University where she and John, her husband of nearly 50 years, met. Lindsey and John reared their five children in Mary Esther and Destin, Florida. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church of Fort Walton Beach.Lindsey was a licensed Florida real estate broker, a member of the Junior Women's Club, the Daughters of the American Revolution and the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Lindsey is survived by her loving husband and their children Jack, Allison (Ted Hauser), John (DeAna), Ashley, Alexis and numerous adopted sons and daughters, and her beloved grandchildren, Lindsey Bowen, Trey "John III", Benjamin, Stephen, Bobby, Macy, Evie, Sophie, Augustine and Austin. She is also survived by her sister, Martha Stokes (Isaac) of Nixa, Missouri and her brother, Clayton Shaw (Mary) of Destin, her beloved nieces and nephews and many other loving relatives and friends. Samuel Isaac Stokes, Lindsey's brother-in-law, and Isaac's son, Jacob Stokes, an ordained minister, officiated at the funeral services held at 4:00 P.M. Friday, February 26, 2010 at St. Simon's by the Sound Episcopal Church, 28 Miracle Strip Parkway Southwest in Fort Walton Beach. Pallbearers were Jack D. Hunnicutt, II, John Milton Hunnicutt, Jr., John Milton Hunnicutt (Trey), III, Ted Lawrence Hauser, Justin Michael Shaw, and Andrew Todd Turk. Honorary pallbearers were Frank Steven Barkocy, Jr., John W. Brooks, Phillip J. Babiak, Douglas A. Davis (in absentia), and James A. Parker (in absentia).
