Shirley Virginia Willett Brown

Shirley Virginia Willett Brown, age 81, was born May 5th, 1930, in Memphis, TN, and died Wednesday, June 1st, at TMH, following a brief illness. She is survived by her daughters Lynda Dickens of Tallahassee and Pamela Brown of Asheville, NC, son Michael Brown of Vienna, VA, grandsons Anthony Dickens and Sean Cox both of Atlanta, sisters Helen Jean Lane of Tarpon Springs and Pat Wolfe of The Villages, FL, and 17 nieces and nephews. Her husband of 62 years, C. Covelle Brown, died the following day. She is pre-deceased by her daughter Carol Brown and her brother Dennis Virgil Willett. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, and retired from State Government in 1988 after 30 years of service. She loved golfing and fishing and spent much of her retired life vacationing all around the world. She was a volunteer at TMH for 19 years, providing over 4,300 hours of service.

Memorial Services to be held Saturday, June 4th, at Blessed Sacrament Church, 624 Miccosukee Rd, Tallahassee, at 11:00 AM, followed by a reception in the church hall. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Big Bend Hospice 1723 Mahan Center Blvd (32308) or a favorite charity.
