Norma "Karen" LaKaren Hornsby Norma LaKaren Hornsby, 50, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2009, in Hollywood, Florida. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. EST Tuesday, February 10, 2009, at Lake Mystic Cemetery, Bristol. The family will receive friends Monday, from 6 until 8 p.m. EST at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home-Riggins Road Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a hospice of your choice. Karen was born in Tallahassee, but resided in Hollywood where she was a member of the medical profession serving as a heart/lung Profusionist for 15 years. She was a member of the Florida State University Women's Rugby Football Club in the early 80's.
She is survived by her father, Gene Hornsby (and wife, Margie); two brothers, Scott Hornsby of Roswell, Ga., and Kevin Hornsby of Tallahassee; stepfather, Fred Lehmann of Tallahassee; grandmother, Eddie Mae Hornsby of the Rock Bluff area of Bristol; and a host of aunts, cousins, and friends. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Bojie.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Reese Lehmann.
