Annette Powell Ferrell

Annette Powell Ferrell, age 69, passed away, after her courageous battle with heart disease, on Monday, February 27, 2012 at the home of her daughter. She was surrounded by the presence of her family at the time of her death. Annette was born on January 11, 1943 in Deland, Florida.

Annette dedicated her life to her family, pets and special needs children. She drove a school bus for Gadsden County and worked at Gretchen Everhart School until her retirement. She also worked as an EMT with Gadsden County. She will truly be missed by all who loved her.

She is survived by her daughters, Shirley Jackson and husband Terry, Sherryl Mercer and husband Tony, Connie Miranda and husband Chris, Cassie Powell and partner Rusty Owens. She is also survived by her sisters Paula Davis and husband Darnell, Brenda Potter and husband Randal, Debra Sansom and a brother, Michael Flournoy and wife Kelli. Other survivors include seventeen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Louise Flournoy, father Albert Cox, stepfather Paul Flournoy, niece Dawn Shepard Jensen and nephew Eric Shepard.

Annette chose to donate her body to science research so there will be no viewing. The family will have a celebration of her life on Saturday, March 3 at 2 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church, Lake Talquin (Quincy). The family will be accepting visitors at the home of her daughter and son-in-law Connie and Chris Miranda at 536 Drake Acres Road, Quincy, FL.
