Robert "Bob" Freeman

Robert "Bob" Freeman was born in Toledo, Ohio on August 8, 1930 to Mr. & Mrs. William D Freeman and passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2013. He spent his childhood in Toledo, Ohio. He attended University of Toledo, College of Engineering graduating in 1953 and University of Michigan, earning a Master of Science in Engineering in 1954.
Bob served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956 at the end of the Korean conflict and received an early discharge to attend Yale for post-graduate studies in Traffic Engineering.
Bob was the Assistant State Traffic Engineer for the State of Florida, and for over 35 years played a critical role in designing many traffic road signs, signals and markings that are in use today.
During his career, he was a long standing member and former president of the Florida section of the Institute of Transportation Engineers and throughout his career worked to standardize US Interstate travel signs and signals.
Bob was an avid drummer, gardener, fisherman and photographer. He has travelled throughout North America and Europe and camped in nearly each of the 49 US states and Canadian Provinces that he visited with his wife, Nina. He was a long time member of Epiphany Lutheran Church in Tallahassee, FL.

Bob is survived by his wife Nina Allen Freeman, brother, William Freeman of Mesa, AZ, and 5 children; Terrence Freeman, Timothy Freeman, Robyn F. Knight, Katherine S. Goodman and Charles J. Shupard. He also leaves behind 7 loving grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be held for Bob Freeman at Epiphany Lutheran Church on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 1:00 PM with reception to follow.
