Charles Ray Betts

Charles Ray Betts (Charlie) was born in Quincy, Florida on September 10, 1926 to Thomas Marion and Lula White Betts. After various moves he returned to Quincy where he raised his family. He left his earthly home to be with his Lord on January 24, 2014, at the age of 87 following a brief illness at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Behre Tosto and Montez Lester, and his brother, Carlton Betts. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Geraldine Monk Betts; his daughters, Jennie Lu Honea (Doyle), Charlene Saunders (Tony) and Beth Perkins (Michael); his siblings, Hazel Bowen and Tommy Betts.
He was blessed with 9 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He loved being surrounded by his family and friends, and like any good Baptist made sure there was plenty of good food for everyone to enjoy.
Visitation for friends and family will be held Monday, January 27, 2014, from 2:30 PM until service time, in the fellowship hall of First Baptist Church, Quincy, Florida.
The service will be at 3:30 PM in the church sanctuary. A graveside service with Military Honors with be held in Hillcrest Cemetery immediately following the service.
