Clyde Leo Young, 89, of Tallahassee transitioned this earthly life on Thursday, February 6, 2014, Funeral services are 12:00 noon Saturday at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with military burial at Tallahassee Memory Gardens.Viewing-visitation is 3:00-7:30 p.m. Friday, with a gathering of friends from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at TILLMAN OF TALLAHASSEE 850-942-1950. A native Tallahassean, Mr. Young was a retired fiscal assistant for Coleman Library at FAMU, where he graduated with a Business degree. He was a loyal member of Bethel where he served as an usher and bass player in the church choir.Cherishing precious memories are: his devoted wife, Diane; loving daughter, Lyn (Eugene) Vaughn; sister, Gloria Y. Hughes; grandchildren, Jordan and Myles Vaughn; surrogate daughter, Veronica "Peanut" Phillips; godson, Steven McFarland; brother-in-law, Leroy (Priscilla) McKinnon; sisters-in-law, Katherine M. Robinson and Jacquelyn T. Jackson; his special barber, Jesse Robinson; loyal friend, Theophilus Inge; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and loving friends; and his four-legged baby boy, "Jamma".He was preceded in death by his son, Quinton Young; parents, Charles Jr. and Sara Switzer Young; brother, Charles Young III; and brother-in-law, Gerald Hughes.
