Miminih Tuma Fon, aged 31, died suddenly in the Island of Antigua on April 6th, 2014, where she was studying medicine.Mimi was a devoted Christian with a strong passion to serve. Becoming a Medical Doctor was her lavage to connect and make the world a better place one person at a time. Mimi was born in Mankon- Bamenda, Cameroon on October 17th ,1983 to Monica Azah and late Pa George Fon Tuma (2010). Mimi was the baby in a very large family and her nick names range from mimi, small mimi, Ma benges, or Benges.After high school Mimi migrate to the United States of America and attended LSU, where she obtained a bachelor's degree in Biology. She continue at FAMU to obtain a master's degree in Biology. Mimi taught as an adjunct instructor in FAMU for a little while and she was liked by her students and was known to be very knowledgeable and diligent.She enjoyed her time at FAMU until an admission into Medical school at the American University of Antigua. She has excel in her studies at Antigua where she was one semester to finish before the untimely death due to Pulmonary Embolism. Mimi was very much loved by her family and everyone especially her numerous nieces and nephew at any given opportunity.She will be remember for always volunteering her time to help friends and fellow students. Best put she was "the Small Lady with big Goals, a humble spirit most of all that poster smile".
Mimi is survived by her mother, Monica; and by many loving brothers, sisters, cousins and friends in the US, Antigua and Cameroon.We loved Mimi but the lord loved her more. Memorial service will be 3PM on Sat. April 19 at RICHARDSON'S TALLAHASSEE CHAPEL(850)576-4144. VISITATION will be from 1PM- 3PM SAT. APR. 19 at the funeral home. Repass: 6pm- until Cross Creek Banquet Center, 6701 Mahan Dr. Tallahassee, and FL. 32317.
