Mary Harris Beal Weber

Mary Harris Beal Weber, 76, passed away Friday, April 25, 2014, at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare of heart failure due to complications from diabetes.

Mary was born October 20, 1937, in Hayesville, North Carolina to Frank Clifton and Ivah Harris Beal. She moved with her family at an early age and grew up in Tallahassee. She attended public schools in Tallahassee and graduated from Leon High School. She attended Florida State University until she married James Douglas Weber in 1959. She moved to Panama City to be with her husband who was stationed at Tyndall Air Force Base. They also lived in Arkansas, California, South Florida and Texas before returning to Tallahassee. They were married for 55 years. She worked for Bay National Bank, Lewis State Bank, First Florida Bank, Bank of America and retired from Capital City Bank.

She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, career Air Force Chief Master Sergeant (E-9 ret.) James; her brothers, Frank C. Beal, Jr. (Liz) of Fredericksburg, Texas, and George L. Beal of Marin County, California; a niece by marriage, Barbara Jo Morgan (Bruce) and their daughters Kendalyn and Tristynn of Fayetteville, North Carolina. Survivors also include nephews Cliff Beal (Diane) of Jacksonville, Florida; Larry Beal of McKinney, Texas; Jason Beal (Nina) of Reno, Nevada; and Dr. Daniel Beal (Jill) of San Antonio, Texas, as well as many cousins and extended relatives.

She was a Methodist, an avid reader, and a cat lover. Her cats were a sense of comfort for her and brought her great joy. Mary was loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

The funeral is 2:00 PM, with visitation from 1:00 until 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Abbey Funeral Home. Interment follows at Tallahassee Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be to the Diabetes Foundation, the Leon County Humane Society, or your preferred animal rescue group.
