John Corwin Obituary
John G. Corwin

Mr. John G. Corwin, 94, of Tallahassee died on Friday, August 15, 2014. He was born in Strafford, CT. to parents John and Mary Corwin on November 19, 1919. John came to Tallahassee in the late 1980s from Bermuda.

John's service in the US Navy and later as a Comptroller for Exxon Mobil (1947-1987) allowed him to travel and live all over the world. He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, where he was very active in the church and sang in the Men's Choir. John was a longtime resident at Westminster Oaks. His kind and generous heart will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Ninna M. Corwin; sister Mildred Burke of Jensen Beach, FL., two nephews and their families. He is preceded in death by his wife Mary P. Corwin (Oct. 1994). The family wishes to extend their sincerest thanks to Joann Ammons (CNA) , the caregivers and staff at Westminster Oaks, Big Bend Hospice, the Maxim Healthcare staff, and Otis Joyner, for all they have done for John and Ninna. Additionally, many thanks to Rashida Porter ("Je t'aime") and the staff of Longhorn Steakhouse on North Monroe St., where John and Ninna enjoyed dinner every Friday for the past 6 years.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, Aug. 21st from 6-8 PM at Culley's Meadowwood Funeral Home, 700 Timberlane Road. The Funeral Service will be Friday, Aug. 22nd at 1 pm at the funeral home, with a reception to follow immediately afterwards.
