In Loving Memory of R. Gene Farley who passed away on August 22, 2014 in Atlanta, Georgia.
R. Gene was born in Napton, Missouri on April 14, 1925 to Tom Thorp and Claudia Lila Pace Thorp. In 1946, she married David L. Farley in Yuma, Arizona, and they were married 52 years when he preceded her in death on September 20, 1998.
She is survived by her son, Tom Farley of Tallahassee, Florida, and daughter, Joy Farley of Decatur, Georgia - along with her granddaughter, Tara Farley of Tallahassee.
For many years R. Gene was involved in Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and American Legion Women's Auxiliary and she found much enjoyment from both of these service organizations. She enjoyed being a homemaker and enjoyed baking desserts. For about 10 years, during the 1990's, she worked at Sonny's BBQ on Monroe Street.
Her arrangements are follows: Visitation will be held on Monday, August 25, 2014 at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Crawfordville, Florida from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. On Tuesday, August 26, 2014 her funeral and graveside burial will be held at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church at 2:00 p.m.
