Lula J. "Punkin" Parrish Lula J. "Punkin" Parrish, 81, of Monticello died September 2, 2009, in Tallahassee. The funeral will be on Saturday, 11 a.m. EDT at Greater Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, Monticello, with burial at Texas Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be on Friday from 3 until 8 p.m. at TILLMAN FUNERAL HOME (850-997-5553) in Monticello. Mrs. Parrish was a native and lifelong resident of Monticello and a member of Greater Fellowship. She had been a cook , nursery worker and a homemaker. Among those mourning Mrs. Parrish's passing are sons, Roosevelt Parker, Lornell (Gracy), Brantley Jr., James Parish Jr., Roy (Ernestine) Parrish, Henry Lee Parrish and Cletis Parrish, all of Monticello, Fla., and Bobby (Latrecia) Parrish of Tallahassee; daughters, Juanity (Waddie) Ross and Belle (the Rev. Terry) Presley of Monticello, and Bernice (Tobe) Cain of Greenville, Fla.; step-children, Roosevelt Graham, Robert Scurry, James Hunter, Blanche Norton and Earnestine Broxsie; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; aunt, Christine Brinson; and sister-in-law, Ruby Martin; along with numerous other relatives and friends. Mrs. Parrish was predeceased by her husband, James "Sly" Parrish and her parents, Roosevelt James and Biner Brinson.
