Lester Reeves of Tallahassee passed away Sunday, February 19, 2012. Visitation will be held 10:00-11:00AM,Tuesday, February 21, at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, Timberlane Chapel, funeral services will be held at 11:00AM with interment to follow at Oakland Cemetery. He was born March 3, 1925 and raised in the Tallahassee area where he spent the majority of his life.He served proudly in the U.S. Army during WWII, in the infantry, manning the squad units B.A.R.in the European Theater. He later worked as a police officer in Tallahassee, then he went to work at the paper mill in Port St. Joe, FL where he learned his skill as a carpenter.His trade as a carpenter served him for the rest of his life in Tallahassee until his retirement. He was an outdoorsman, who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He liked to watch sports on T.V. and the simple things in life. Lester was the loving father of four children, Geary Reeves(Diane), Pam DeFelice(David),Les Reeves(Shelley) and Steve Reeves(Deborah); a brother Gene Reeves(Alma); grandchildren Christopher, England, Amber, Leslie, Jade, Brittney, and Brandy.
