Stephen "Steve" Sarvis, 75, of Tallahassee, passed away Saturday, February 2, 2013 at his home. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Rose Sarvis.
The memorial service will be held at 2PM, EST, Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Bevis Funeral Home in Tallahassee (850/385-2193 or www.bevisfh.com).
Mr. Sarvis was a native and lifelong resident of Tallahassee. He retired from Winn-Dixie Stores as a meat cutter, and later worked as a meat cutter at 4th Avenue Market. He also was an agent for National Standard Life Insurance Company. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed restoring old photographs in his spare time.Mr. Sarvis was a longtime member of the Civil Air Patrol, as well as the Coast Guard Auxiliary.
Other survivors include two daughters, Rhonda Cain (Ottis) and Renee Fake (John), both of Crawfordville; his sister Gwendolyn Wall, also of Crawfordville; four grandchildren, Andrea Pafford (Dean), Rebecca Cain, Kenneth Fake and Sarah Bobo; three great-grandchildren, Makayla and Hunter Pafford and Gabriella Bobo; and devoted friends, Cliff and Tommie Sue Screws.
Mr. Sarvis was preceded in death by his parents, J.W. and Elsie Sarvis.
