Archie Morris Hogan

ARCHIE MORRIS HOGAN, 88, of Dallas, Texas, (formerly of Uniontown, Ohio), passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 18, 2012. He was born on February 18, 1925, in Oakley, Tennessee, to Mose and Alvea Hogan and grew up in Akron, Ohio. He graduated with honors from Akron's Springfield Township High School in May, 1941, and attended Akron University until his enlistment in the United States Army Air Corps in 1943 as a radio operator/mechanic and gunner.
He was awarded several Oak Leaf Clusters and the Distinguished Flying Cross for his meritorious achievements during his time in the Army Air edrfcCorp. In 1945, Archie returned to Akron upon his discharge from the Army, began his life's work as a court reporter with the Summit County Court, and on October 27, 1946, married Fern Marie Streenz.
After his retirement, he and Fern relocated to Dallas, Texas, where he resided until his death.
Archie is survived by his wife of 66 years , the former Fern Marie Streenz; three sons; Jeffrey Hogan (Charlene) of Tallahassee, Florida; Douglas Hogan, of Akron, Ohio; and John Hogan (Kelley) of Dallas, Texas; four grandchildren; Judd Hogan (Luisa) and Sara Hogan of Tallahassee, and Nicole Hogan and Chris Hogan, of Virginia; three great-grandchildren, Jacob Hogan of Tallahassee, and Tamara and Jalen of Virginia; brother, Earl Hogan(Jan) of Kissimmee, Fl. , and two sisters, Ila and Wilma, who proceeded him in death.
A remembrance of his life is planned for a future date.
