Frederick Church Jackson
Frederick Church Jackson, 89, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2013 in Tallahassee, Florida.
The son of the late Eleanor Church and Richard Law Jackson was born on December 21, 1923 in New York City. He entered the United States Army at the age of 19 and served with the 180th Infantry during WWII.
He earned a Purple Heart for injuries he incurred at Anzio, Italy.
He retired from the Federal Aviation Administration in Miami, Florida in 1983 and moved to the Florida Keys where he was an avid fisherman and loved taking his children and grandchildren fishing and snorkeling.
While in South Florida he served as Division Captain of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. He moved to Tallahassee in 2002 to be closer to his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Nannette Rodgers Jackson; his children Margo Jackson and Kathy Bye (Ray) both of Tallahassee; two grandchildren Philip Jackson Bye (Catherine) and Ellie Bye Haga (Barrett) of the Washington, DC area; and two great-grandchildren, Jackson and William Bye.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sarah Dunham.

A private memorial service will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the memorial fund at the Church of the Advent, 815 Piedmont Drive, Tallahassee, 32312.
